- Dr. David Williamson is a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases and traumatic brain injuries that produce changes in behavior, emotions, and cognitive functions. Dr. Williamson is Board Certified in General Psychiatry, Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry, Brain Injury Medicine, and Forensic Psychiatry. He has over 35 years of experience in treating patients with severe illness at a hospital level ranging from acute polytrauma patients in both civilian and military populations to forensic and correctional populations. He developed and directs the US Military’s only inpatient Neuropsychiatry/TBI Unit at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Prior to this appointment he has held medical director positions and functioned in team leadership roles in numerous programs.
