Summary
- “To make the healthy choice an easier choice and empower patients to take control of their health.”
I am a graduating family medicine resident interested in the fields of public health, obesity, diabetes, nutrition, exercise, and behavior modification through lifestyle interventions, as well as point of care ultrasound and prenatal care. With the increasing prevalence of obesity and chronic, degenerative diseases like diabetes throughout the United States and developed world, gaining knowledge and experience in these particular topics is of great importance to me. Working with underserved communities—where a concentration of these diseases exists—for several years has also inspired me to focus on this population. As an extremely dedicated, sympathetic, trusting, and passionate individual, I wish to impact communities suffering from these diseases by pursuing the fields of medicine and public health, which will allow me to one day create a truly significant impact. Currently, I am practicing family medicine as full a spectrum as able in an outpatient setting (including procedures and prenatal care), with plans to do newborn rounding and continuity OB deliveries in the inpatient hospital setting. I have also taken a keen interest in point of care ultrasound and its use in inpatient/outpatient settings for family medicine practitioners. Recently, I have joined Lifelong Medical Care Family Residency Training Program (affiliated with UCSF) as core faculty where I will additionally work on curriculum development for the residency training program as well as oversee residents.
