Summary

  • As the contracted Medical Director of the Northern Michigan Opioid Response Consortium (NMORC), I'm part of a team that works with 50 member organizations in 25 Northern Michigan counties to promote prevention, treatment, and recovery services in the region.
    I had also worked worked with provider practices to offer them resources for chronic pain and substance-use disorder patients(Academic Detailing). As of the spring of 2020 I had visited approximately 25 practices.
    Formerly, as the Chief Medical Officer for Munson Medical Center, I had key leadership responsibilities in physician recruitment and retention, provider satisfaction, the oversight of Graduate Medical Education/Continuing Medical Education, the medical staff office, physician relations, clinical ethics, physician contracts, quality, safety, and clinical informatics. My special interests include physician performance and coaching, safety and teamwork, wellness, leadership education, conflict resolution, change management, and physician-hospital relations. I have had extensive training and experience in High-Reliability, Lean/A3, and Incident Command principles.
