He then returned to Houston, where he completed medical school and an orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine. While a resident at Baylor, he received both the Wooden Pager and Bronze Hammer Awards, chosen as outstanding junior and senior resident by his peers and faculty. He also represented the department at the American Orthopaedic Association’s Resident Leadership Forum. During his chief year of residency, he completed an AO Trauma Fellowship at Universitäs Spital Zürich in Zürich, Switzerland. Dr. Martin returned to Baylor after completing additional fellowship training in adult hip & knee reconstruction at the University of Wisconsin.
