Summary
- Always a slow learner, it took me 35 years to feel comfortable in my role as a FamDoc. I had progressed to a level of expertise in both providing patient services and sharing with residents the passion of patient-centered care, with a special interest in maternal-child health for the poor. My career crashed without tenure, and burned following a misdiagnosed rare illness, well described in my latest peer reviewed article: Lyman D. Spontaneous Esophageal Perforation in a Patient with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. The Open Rheumatology Journal, 2011, 5, 91-96.
