Summary

• David Grace, MD, SFHM, brings 25+ years of healthcare experience and training to his executive role as the Senior Medical Officer for the Hospital Medicine division of Schumacher Group; a national physician staffing and practice management company treating over 4-million patients annually. He responsible for the medical leadership and clinical over-site of 35 Hospitalist programs in 12 states. Prior to joining the Schumacher Group in 2006 he served as a military combat medic, civilian paramedic, ER-tech, and as a volunteer with the Red-Cross and FEMA. After earning his BS, MS and MD degrees, he trained in Internal Medicine at the Louisiana State University-University Medical Center. Following residency, Dr. Grace worked as a hospitalist at Phoenix, Arizona’s number one ranked hospital and returned to Louisiana in 2005, where he developed the first Hospitalist program in the region. He has recently been named “Senior Fellow in Hospital Medicine” by the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) and sits on the Leadership Committee; is a member of the Phoenix Group think-tank; and is frequently interviewed for articles that appear in national Hospitalist publications.
