Dr. Friedland partners with data scientists to use electronic health record information to improve diagnostic accuracy, reducing the number of tests needed and helping patients access appropriate treatments faster. He advocates for responsible AI usage that includes humans in each step of the process. Dr. Friedland’s research has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals, and he is often invited to present his findings at national conferences.

    Dr. Friedland is a clinical professor of otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He is also involved in professional organizations including the American Otological Society and the American Neurotology Society.

    Dr. Friedland grew up in the Northeast, where he attended medical school. He then spent two decades practicing medicine in the Upper Midwest. Now that he has relocated to Southern California, he is excited to explore all this area has to offer.
