Summary
- While in medical school at the University of Minnesota, I determined that orthopaedics would be the best field for me because of immediate tangible benefits it can offer patients. I completed my orthopaedic residency at the University of Vermont and elected to subspecialize in arthroplasty due to its reliable ability to improve patients’ pain and function. I will complete an adult reconstruction arthroplasty fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in August 2020.
I have interests in all aspects of adult hip and knee reconstruction including primary and revision arthroplasty, treatment of periprosthetic fractures, prosthetic joint infections, aseptic failures, and instability. My training has included patient specific instrumentation, rapid recovery protocols with outpatient total joint arthroplasty, high-volume arthroplasty, unicompartmental knee arthroplasty and extensive revision experience including megaprostheses.
Beyond the clinical setting, I have been involved in multiple research projects and consider lifelong learning to be vital to medical practice. I have also had the opportunity to give back to the community through mentoring medical students and volunteering locally and internationally. Although work/life balance is difficult to manage in training, my family and I enjoy traveling, hiking, and triathlons.
