  • David M. Barash, M.D. is a leader in healthcare services, medical technology, global health, and corporate philanthropy. Most recently, he was the Executive Director of GE Foundation, where he led their work in health, education, and disaster response. David created and launched Safe Surgery 2020, a global initiative to improve surgical access to underserved populations. In addition, he led statewide projects to impact the opioid crisis in Massachusetts over the past 7 years. He oversaw the GE Foundation’s commitment to improve STEM education opportunities, including the initiation of Next Engineers, a global program to enable young people from underrepresented groups to pursue an education and career in engineering. He was the co-founder and past co-chair of the Private Sector Roundtable, a collaboration of several multinational companies supporting Global Health Security Agenda in preparing for and combating pandemic outbreaks. David founded Concord Healthcare Strategies in 2000, a consulting firm enabling medical technology businesses to deliver new innovations to the bedside. David is a practicing emergency medicine physician and is the author of several clinical publications and patented innovations. He is a graduate of Cornell University and the Weill Cornell Medical College.
