  • Dr. Daniel G. Straka completed his undergraduate degree with honors at the University of Notre Dame. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Toledo, College of Medicine, where he graduated top 5 in his class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his Internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. followed by residency in ophthalmology at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute. After residency he completed a very competitive 2-year ASOPRS sponsored fellowship in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Plastic Surgery Ohio and The Ohio State University

    Dr. Straka has extensive training in the areas of cosmetic facial surgery including upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), endoscopic brow/forehead lift, facelift, and laser surgery techniques to reduce facial wrinkles and skin discoloration. As a complement to his surgical interventions, he performs many non-invasive laser and injectable procedures including neurotoxin injections (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport), soft tissue fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra, Belotero), and Kybella, the only FDA approved injectable to help reduce neck fullness. He has a very strong interest in using microneedling and platelet rich plasma (PRP) for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration. In addition, he specializes in the medical and surgical management of many conditions affecting the eyelids, eye socket (orbit), and tear ducts in both adults and children. These include droopy eyelids (ptosis), upper and lower eyelid malposition (ectropion, entropion, retraction), eyelid or periocular skin cancers, orbital tumors and fractures, blocked tear ducts, congenital eyelid malformations, and thyroid eye disease.
