  Dr. Shouhed graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles where he was inducted into the society of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. He completed his general surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he received the chief resident teaching award. He went to New York to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital, with a clinical focus on bariatric, endocrine, foregut and colorectal surgery.
