- Daniel Sherwood, MD, is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee, including primary and revision hip and knee replacements, injuries around previous hip and knee replacements, hip fractures, and treatment of infections of the hip and knee. He has a special interest in robotic surgery and minimally invasive anterior approach hip replacement.
Dr. Sherwood earned his medical degree (MD) at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Michigan. He then completed residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. He continued his training at the University of Chicago to sub-specialize in hip and knee replacement surgery with a focus on robotic assisted surgery. Throughout this time, Dr Sherwood trained extensively with worldwide leaders in robotic surgery and renowned pioneers in surgical techniques.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr Sherwood is also active in research regarding outcomes of primary and revision hip and knee replacement, which has led to various publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national conferences.
