Summary

  • Daniel B.C. Reid, MD, MPH is a board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon specializing in surgery of the spine. He also has advanced training in orthopaedic trauma and fracture care. He focuses on the prevention and treatment of spinal conditions affecting patients of all ages. Dr. Reid treats all areas of the spine, including the neck, back, low back, and pelvis. He is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for his patients. He guides patients through the diagnosis and treatment of various spinal conditions, generally focusing first on non-operative modalities, and only pursuing surgical intervention when conservative measures have failed. When spine surgery is required, Dr. Reid has specific interests in minimally invasive techniques in order to reduce postoperative pain, facilitate faster recovery, and improve patient outcomes. He also regularly utilizes state-of-the-art technology, such as robotics and computer-assisted 3D navigation, in order to improve surgical accuracy and maximize patient satisfaction.

Dr. Reid completed his undergraduate education at the University of Washington, where he received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology with College Honors. He earned his medical degree (MD) from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. In addition to earning his MD, Dr. Reid was formally trained in epidemiology with the Tulane University School of Public Health while completing his medical school training. He graduated in 2014 with dual MD and MPH degrees. Following medical school, Dr. Reid completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Brown University in Providence, RI. After residency, he completed an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at Brown University. This was followed by a Spine Surgery fellowship with the San Diego Spine Foundation at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, CA, where Dr. Reid received extensive and comprehensive training in both traditional and modern minimally invasive spine surgery techniques.
