  • Dr. Daniel Polatsch is a Manhattan based orthopaedic hand surgeon who has been recognized as New York’s Top doctors by New York Magazine, Castle Connolly, New York Times Super Doctors, and U.S. News and World Report for over 13 consecutive years. Dr. Polatsch is the Co-Director and Co-Founder of the New York Hand and Wrist Center of Lenox and was recruited by Lenox Hill Hospital and Northwell Health in 2015 to establish and build a world-renowned Hand Surgery Center. Dr. Polatsch also was the former President of The New York Society for Surgery of the Hand (NYSSH) for which he was elected by his peers. The NYSSH is one of the largest hand organizations in the United States.
    Dr. Polatsch is nationally and internationally known for excellence in the comprehensive management of complex hand, wrist, and elbow disorders. He is also responsible for the teaching and education of orthopaedic residents at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Polatsch is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is board certified in both orthopaedic surgery and hand surgery. He underwent additional specialty training in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery at Harvard Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship in Boston. Owing to his expertise in sports-related elbow, wrist, and hand injuries, Dr. Polatsch has treated countless professional, Olympic, and collegiate athletes in every sport, performing state-of-the-art surgical techniques that have permitted their return to sports activities without impairment. This includes the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, PGA, PLL, and Professional fighting (both Boxing and MMA). He has treated countless celebrities and entertainers. In addition, Dr. Polatsch’s clinical interest and expertise include the following: Scapholunate (SL) ligament injuries in the elite athlete, endoscopic carpal tunnel decompression, professional fighting related injuries, percutaneous scaphoid fixation with return to sport at 4 weeks, skier’s thumb, and cubital tunnel syndrome.
