Summary
- I was born and raised in Wichita Kansas, the son of a local family practice Doc. I completed my pre-medical undergraduate biology degree at the University of Kansas. I then attended the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences for both a master’s degree in Bioethics as well as doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. I then matched to a residency program at Michigan State University followed by a Hand Surgery Fellowship in Dayton Ohio through the University of Ohio.
I was first exposed to hand surgery while I was in high school when I shadowed a hand surgeon. I fell in love with its precision, attention to symmetry as well as structure and function. From that day forward I knew that I wanted to be a hand surgeon. My focus includes complex elbow, wrist and hand fractures, wrist and hand arthritis, small joint reconstruction, tendon repair and peripheral nerve surgery.
My wife, Nada, and I have two children, who joined us while we were both in residency. Decatur really drew us in as Nada’s family lives here, and Nada has the unique opportunity of joining her father in OB/Gyn private practice. For us it was an easy decision to start putting down roots in a great place like this.
