Summary

  • I retired from Kaiser/TPMG Northern California, January 1, 2007. I practiced for 32 years. After retirement, I was elected to three county offices and served on the board of two non-profits, one for hospice care and one for environmental preservation. I am currently writing fiction and have published one book, a novel about medical training /internship, To Walk Among the Gods. I am currently working on a second novel about medical school.

    I joined the Permanente Medical Group, (Kaiser), Sacramento/Roseville, CA and was the scheduler for Primary Care, Rancho Cordova, CA, the extended Care Facility Rounder for the Medicine Department, Rancho Cordova, CA, drafted the blueprint for the Elder Care Program Sacramento, CA, conducted the original study and wrote the proposal for the Repatriation Program, Northern CA, was the project Leader for the development of the Clinical Pharmacy Project for the Adult Care Model Sacramento, CA, designed the Clinical Pharmacy Program for TPMG, Northern CA, including work on the     Pharmacists Blood Pressure Control Program and Chronic Conditions Management,    developed a New Member Visit and Orientation for TPMG, Sacramento, CA, advised on Chronic Condition Management Programs, including the diabetes group visit, depression management program and screening for psycho social causes of disease in primary care, and worked on multiple cost management issues and programs for pharmaceuticals through the Clinical Pharmacy Project TPMG, Northern CA.

    I was Chief of Staff of Barton Memorial Hospital, South Lake Tahoe, CA before I joined TPMG/Kaiser.

    I have two grown children, both of whom live in the Bay Area, and one grand daughter. I met my wife of 50 years when I was an intern at Parkland in Dallas.
