- Dr. Benesch completed his Neurology Residency and Fellowship Training in Experimental Therapeutics in
Cerebrovascular Disease at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He is board- certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology and has been the Director of the UR Medicine Comprehensive Stroke Center since its inception in 1996. His research interests include perioperative stroke, acute stroke treatment, secondary stroke prevention, and development of community-wide approaches to stroke care.
