Upon completing his fellowships, he worked briefly at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and the Prince George County Hospital Center in Washington, DC before relocating to Fairfield, Connecticut.
Cullen has clinical appointments at Yale New Haven Health’s Bridgeport and Milford Campus is as well as Hartford Health Saint Vincent’s Medical Center and the Fairfield Surgical Center. His clinical interest include pelvic and acetabular trauma, periarticular fractures, malunion and nonunion care, periacetabular osteotomy, peri prosthetic fractures, pathologic fractures, arthroscopy, sports medicine and multi ligamentous knee injuries.
He has multiple peer reviewed research articles including The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and American Journal of Sports Medicine. He has been selected to present on his research and clinical experience at multiple national meetings. In the past he has been awarded research grants by the Department of Defense, AO trauma foundation and the Orthopedic Trauma Association.
He is a team physician to the United States Ski Team and travels with the men's and women’s alpine team twice a year to cover World Cup races and training camps.
