Dr. Ong graduated with honors from Harvard University, received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and performed his orthopedic surgery residency at the prestigious NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. At NYU, he was the recipient of the Excellence in Musculoskeletal Research Award.
After this, he completed his sports medicine fellowship training at Lenox Hill Hospital where he assisted in the care of several professional and collegiate sports teams, including the New York Jets, New York Islanders, and the Hunter College Hawks, gaining experience in treating athletes at all levels of competition. Dr. Ong has published several articles in journals such as Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research, the American Journal of Orthopedics, Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, and the Journal of Orthopedic Trauma. He has given lectures and presentations at national meetings such as the American Academy of Orthopedics and the Orthopedic Trauma Association. Dr. Ong is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
