- C. Thomas Haytmanek Jr., MD is an ankle and foot orthopedic specialist at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. His clinical interests include fracture fixation, ankle arthroscopy, cartilage restoration and sports related injuries of the foot and ankle. His ongoing research projects include hindfoot fusion nails, total ankle arthroplasty and cartilage repair.
Dr. Haytmanek earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in chemistry and a minor in physics from Wake Forest University in 2004. After his Bachelor Degree, he completed his Medical Degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 2008, followed by his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Duke University in 2013. Following his residency, Dr. Haytmanek headed west to the Steadman Clinic for his service as a Fellow.
During his residency at Duke University, Dr. Thomas Haytmanek, Jr received several awards. He received the Duke Orthopaedic Annual Award for Excellence for his Orthopaedic Research Presentation in June 2013. He was named a Feagin Leadership Program Scholar as part of the Duke Sports Medicine team in 2012-2013. In 2012, he traveled to New Delhi, India, as a Parekh Traveling Scholar, and also received the Ralph Coonrad Mission Traveling Endowment Award.
Dr. Haytmanek’s completed research projects have been published in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, Foot and Ankle International, American Journal of Sports Medicine and Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy.
