Summary
- I have said for many, many years that my role on this earth is to change the weight of the world. Although I began my professional career in obstetrics & gynecology, about fifteen years in, I fell in love with the field of Obesity Medicine. I eventually obtained board certification in the field. After finding it too difficult to wear both hats, I left the field of OB/GYN and founded the first insurance-based Obesity Medicine clinic in the Greater Kansas City area.
Heartland Weight Loss has grown like wildfire; we now have two locations and five clinicians and we are changing the weight of our communities. Although I still practice clinical medicine every week, I find more and more of my time dedicated to leading my team and growing the business. I recently founded a second business; Health Partners MD. The mission of this business is to help self-funded employers reduce their healthcare costs by bringing Obesity Medicine into on-site/near-site clinics - to change the weight of the workplace.
