Summary

  • Dr. Cory Fielding joined the Gastroenterology Department of Graves Gilbert Clinic in 2018. He completed his Bachelor Degree in Biochemistry (summa cum laude) at Western Kentucky University. He then received his M.D. at University of Kentucky (Global Health Track). While completing his Internal Medicine internship and residency at the University of Kentucky, he received the Outstanding Intern Teacher Award, the Resident Research Oral Presentation Award, and the Resident Scholarly Activity Award. He continued his training at the University of Kentucky by completing a Gastroenterology fellowship. During residency and fellowship, he authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented research at multiple local and national medical conferences.

    Endoscopic treatment for Barrett’s Esophagus was brought to Bowling Green by Dr. Fielding. Treating Barrett’s Esophagus when dysplasia is present can prevent the progression to cancer. Dr. Fielding received specialized training in the assessment and treatment of Barrett’s esophagus including endoscopic mucosal resection and radiofrequency ablation.

    He also has special interests in biliary and pancreatic diseases and performs endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). In addition, he is trained in direct cholangiography and electrohydraulic lithotripsy of stones in the bile duct.

    Dr. Fielding is passionate about caring for the Bowling Green community. In addition to his local work, he has participated in international medical mission trips.

    When not practicing medicine, Dr. Fielding enjoys spending time outdoors and driving fun cars and motorcycles. He, his lovely wife, and their three kids are glad to be back in Bowling Green.
