- Dr. Colin Phoon, based in New York, NY, is a pediatric cardiologist with subspecialties in fetal cardiology and pediatric echocardiography. He completed his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the University of California, San Francisco after his pediatrics residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Phoon has been a professor at New York University School of Medicine since 1996 and a consultant pediatric cardiologist at the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center since 1998. He is experienced in general pediatric cardiology, with expertise in pediatric echocardiography, congenital cardiac echocardiography, and fetal cardiology. Dr Phoon is also deeply involved in medical education, and both clinical and basic science research. Research interests include cardiac development; Barth syndrome and cardiolipins; high-frequency preclinical imaging; and autoimmune-mediated congenital heart block. He has authored over 100 publications. He is actively involved in clinical trials and has received several honors, including the Young Investigator Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics and being named a Fellow of the American Heart Association and the American Society of Echocardiography.
