- Dr. Clifford Saper is a neurologist and neuroscientist based at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. He specializes clinically in movement disorders, but most of his research is in the field of sleep and circadian rhythms. He completed his medical education at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine in 1977, followed by an internship in internal medicine at Washington University and a neurology residency at New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center. Dr. Saper's research examines the brain circuitry underlying sleep and wake states and circadian rhythms, and how these are affected by autoimmune and neurodegenerative disorders. He is an elected member of National Academy of Medicine and Association of American Physicians, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London), American Neurological Association and American Academy of Physicians. He has been acknowledged as a Top Doctor in Boston by Castle Connelly for more than 15 years.
