- Claude “T.” Moorman, III, MD is the president of Atrium Health’s musculoskeletal institute and The Edward N. Hanley, Jr. Endowed Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Throughout his career, Moorman has married his deep-rooted passion for sports with his medical expertise. After more than two decades with over a dozen teams, Moorman has considerable experience providing medical care to NFL, collegiate and high school athletic teams. Moorman is a leader in advancing treatments for shoulder and knee reconstructions with special interest in multiple ligament knee injury and regenerative medicine. He has had more than 150 publications and his research has been honored with numerous honors including the Neer Award and Excellence in Research award for innovations in shoulder reconstruction.
