- I am a Board Certified General Surgeon, Physician Advisor, Combat Veteran, experienced program leader, clinical and research program developer with over 24 years of significant clinical, hospital, and pharmaceutical accomplishments. I have experience in hospital utilization management, leadership in improving patient throughput and patient safety. I have extensive surgical experience in all aspects of general surgery including complex surgeries requiring large multidisciplinary teams such as solid organ transplantation and the treatment of cancer and infectious complications in the immunocompromised host. During my career, I have reopened and improved established transplant programs and brought new initiatives engaging a variety of stakeholders. I have published over 135 abstracts and articles and have given numerous presentations, including developing national continuing education programs for physicians and nurses. In addition, I have experience in cellular transplantation and tissue engineering with a good understanding of FDA and GMP regulations. I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the 2018 USC Mork Family Department of Engineering Distinguished Alumni.
