- Dr. Christopher Taylor, MD, is a board certified colorectal surgeon who specializes in benign and malignant pathology of the colon, rectum, and anus (see Colorectal section for more details). Utilizing the most up to date technologies, he performs the majority of his cases with advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. This includes robotic transanal surgery. He is certified for robotic surgery by Intuitive (the company that created the Da Vinci robot).
Dr. Taylor is the Director of Colorectal Surgery with Colorado Springs Surgical Associates and leads the only Rectal Cancer Center of Excellence in the state of Colorado.
Dr. Taylor was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and grew up in Naples, FL. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and minors in both chemistry and business. He earned his medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and went on to complete his general surgery training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. During his chief year, he was elected Administrative Chief Resident by his peers. Finally, Dr. Taylor completed his colorectal surgery training at the Utah Healthcare Institute/St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.
