- Dr. Razavi is an Assistant Professor of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He was raised in Rochester, NY and attended college at Johns Hopkins University where he majored in Biophysics and was captain of the men's varsity swimming team. Following college he attended Stony Brook University School of Medicine, where he was elected as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He returned to Baltimore to complete his residency training in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, during which he completed an additional 2 years of NIH funded research. Following residency, he completed his fellowship training in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University with Dr. Tom Wang.
His clinical expertise includes rhinoplasty (cosmetic, functional, and reconstructive nasal surgery), reconstructive rhinoplasty for cleft nasal deformity, reconstruction of facial defects following skin cancer removal (Mohs surgery), management of facial paralysis and facial reanimation, aesthetic procedures for the aging face, scar revision, benign and malignant facial skin lesion removal, otoplasty (correcting protruding ears, earlobe repair), and minimally invasive aesthetic procedures (injectable fillers, neurotoxins, skin resurfacing).
Dr. Razavi's research focuses on the integration of technology and innovation within head and neck surgery, with the ultimate aim of improving surgical outcomes and patient quality of life. During his time at Johns Hopkins, he worked closely with both industry start-ups as well as established faculty at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering, with their work leading to multiple publications and patent applications. He continues this research focus as a faculty member at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
