Summary

  • After almost 8 years of family medicine, I am charting a new path.
I found myself becoming increasingly frustrated with our current healthcare system and how physicians, APPs, and nurses have been marginalized and patients forgotten. I struggled with the emotional toll and burnout practicing medicine can have, especially after we learn in medical training "patients come first", at the expense of our own physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. I finally came to terms with this and knew I needed a change. But working harder to achieve financial independence to allow for freedom from medicine wasn't it. What was needed was a reconnection with my authentic self - that long forgotten core. A whole unlearning of my misguided core beliefs, conditioned thought patterns and insecurities ensued. Through this process, I am rediscovering myself and how my values and passions can align. I am rediscovering my calling.
I have found myself creating a new way to address our mental, physical and spiritual health. Along with the absolutely incredible Tracy Lenee Bluhm, Transformative Health and Wellness (transformativehw.com) represents the culmination of this, where we strive to completely transform individuals' lives by changing the paradigm of healthcare and wellness. By focusing on whole person, integrative care, we seek to address the interconnected parts that make up the whole of our health. Upon the foundation of mental health therapy, we've added functional medicine psychiatry, psychedelic assisted psychotherapy (including ketamine and soon psilocybin and MDMA when available), dance therapy, art therapy, osteopathic manipulation, and soon others like nutrition, meditation, body work, community, and nature retreats. We strive to reconnect people to nature, food, humanity, and most importantly to themselves. Understanding and addressing the unaddressed trauma, mindset, habits that keep us stuck becomes the key to unlocking the power within.
