He is interested in fitness, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. He did his surgical residency at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin and an advanced laparoscopic/minimally invasive surgery fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He graduated with the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery certificate in bariatric surgery. He is a Wisconsin native but has lived all over the Midwest. His wife is a nurse, and in his free time, he enjoys skiing, camping, building Lego with his two grade-school sons, and traveling.
