Summary
- I am a neurocritical care and stroke physician with research expertise in the medical genetics of complex diseases, specifically stroke and cerebral small vessel disease. My research lab in the Department of Neurology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, the Center for Genomic Medicine and Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Broad Institute is dedicated to using genetic and bioinformatic tools to explore the pathobiologic processes that underlie cerebrovascular disease, with the ultimate goal of identifying new drug targets and strategies to modify risk of, and recovery from, these debilitating diseases. I balance this research with clinical and administrative responsibilities as Chief of the Division of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and teaching and mentorship responsibilities as Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School.
