Summary
- Before joining HUMC, I completed my fellowship training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and further specialized in Pediatric Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. I became clinically interested in hematopoietic stem cell transplant as a curative therapy option for both malignant and non-malignant disorders affecting children and young adults. I have been involved in research evaluating post-transplant outcomes, such as cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, and investigating how genetic aspects of the immune system impact clinical outcomes after stem cell transplant.
I truly enjoy working closely with patients and their families and building long-lasting relationships. When I meet with patients and their families, it is important that they feel that they are integral members of the care team, whose voices are heard and opinions matter. Working with children with rare malignant and non-malignant diseases for which stem cell transplant represents a curative treatment option motivates me to clinically provide the best patient care but also to investigate ways to improve outcomes post-transplant through clinical research.
