Summary
- I am a board certified transfusion medicine and coagulation physician. I am also an RO1 funded investigator studied immunity to gametocytes, the sexual form of the malaria parasite that is transmitted from humans to the mosquito vector by the bite of a female Anopheline mosquito. This work aims to identify novel malaria anti-gametocyte transmission blocking vaccine candidate antigens to aid in the elimination and/or eradication of malaria. In addition, I am director of the Molecular Pathology Core at Brown, which is the service the provides histology, electron microscopy and immunohistochemistry services to all of the Brown Community.
