Summary

• Chirag A. Buch MD is a cardiovascular disease fellow at UT Health San Antonio. He completed his residency in internal medicine from UT Health San Antonio in June 2023. He is interested in working at the intersection of medicine, the business of medicine, health care information technology, and health policy to optimize the delivery and improve the quality of care. He is also passionate about improving quality and access to preventative care for cardiovascular diseases.
  
  Chirag was part of the inaugural class of the 7-year BS / MD program at UT San Antonio and UT Health San Antonio. He graduated from UTSA with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Leadership Honors through the UTSA Honors College. During medical school, Chirag participated in numerous QI / lean six sigma projects and routinely participated in student-run free clinics. He pioneered a course at UT Health San Antonio to allow medical students to obtain certificates in Lean Six Sigma. His passion for teaching led him to teach a cadaver anatomy course to PA Students and he was invited to be part of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
  
  During the Intern year, Chirag was awarded the Intern of the Year and Resident Educator of the Year. He was involved with implementing EPIC electronic medical records and DRAGON dication at the University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
