Summary

• Dr. Cheryl Bates is an Obesity Medicine Physician and Internist at the Palo Alto, VA. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Stanford Health Care from 2005 to 2008, followed by a Chief Residency year at Stanford. She graduated from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine in 2005.
  She has been Section Chief in Obesity Medicine at the Palo Alto VA since 2021. She supervises 4.0 MD FTE, 1.0 NP FTE, 4.0 RN FTE, 2.0 HT FTE, and directs the overall MOVE TIME and Clinical Resource Hub Weight Management Center programs which also includes 1.5 RD FTE, 2.0 Behavioral Medicine FTE, 1.2 PT FTE, and collaborates closely with the bariatric surgery team and GI team.
