Summary
- Cherie Q. Marfori, MD, FACOG, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified gynecological surgeon who specializes in benign reproductive surgery utilizing minimally invasive techniques. She was recruited to Inova Health System as the Section Chief of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery in 2021 after serving as the Medical and Fellowship Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic surgery at George Washington University, where she practiced for 15 years.
Dr. Marfori enjoys taking care of patients with problems across the gynecologic spectrum and specializes in restorative surgery for fibroids, endometriosis, Asherman’s syndrome, infertility, Muellerian anomalies, gender dysphoria and uterine prolapse. One asset she brings to Inova is the ability to offer diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy in the office setting, allowing patients the ease and convenience of a procedure in comfortable surroundings, with no downtime afterward. She is passionate about educating her patients as well as the residents and fellows whom she mentors in the surgical arena. She is consistently recognized by her peers as an expert in Minimally-Invasive Surgery and hopes to see the time when every patient is able to benefit from the many advantages it brings.
