- Chelsea Miller attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute for her undergraduate degree in biology-biotechnology, also earning minors in music and theatre. Following graduation, she joined Teach For America as an inaugural Memphis corps member. She completed her general psychiatry residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham, where she was a research-track resident. She is currently completing her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of South Alabama Health System. Chelsea largely credits her time in the classroom as her motivator for wanting to become a child and adolescent psychiatrist.
Chelsea’s professional interests include child and adolescent psychiatry, academic psychiatry, and consult liaison psychiatry. Her research focuses on school-based mental health initiatives on internalization and externalization symptoms in students, as well as adverse childhood experiences and their impact on mental health. Chelsea’s career goals are to continue her research in hopes of creating school-based mental health programming at the community and state level to help create more equitable futures for kids in Alabama.
