Summary
- I am a board-certified anesthesiologist who retired in 1990 to expand my scope of practice. I have become familiar with administrative medicine by working as the Manager of the Utah Recovery Assistance Program at the Utah Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) for the last 25 years. In that position, I was in charge of formulating confidential agreements with licensed professionals that were having a first-time problem with drugs, alcohol or mental illness. This position has involved close monitoring, advising and ultimately making decisions about whether a licensee should go to their licensing board or not. I have also practiced part-time in an opioid maintenance clinic setting and also have my own private practice working with addicted individuals.
