- Dr. Cattano is Associate Medical Director of eviCore Healthcare and Past Chief of Medicine at AAMC, an Annapolis Johns Hopkins-affiliated hospital. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG), and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGAF), he has repeatedly been voted by his peers the "Top Doc in Gastroenterology" at both local and multiple state levels. Additionally, he has enjoyed HealthTap's "Top Gastroenterologist in the Nation" ranking for many years running. Dr. Cattano is highlighted in over a dozen Who's Who directories, and was recently highlighted by Marquis Who’s Who for their Lifetime Achievement recognition award (https://wwlifetimeachievement.com/2019/04/01/charles-joseph-cattano/). He completed in 1989 two respective fellowships simultaneously in adult gastroenterology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and in Metabolic Diseases at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, preceded by residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, and medical school at SUNY-Upstate in Syracuse. He has served on faculties of Duke University and University of Pittsburgh. He has sixteen years of expertise as Principal Investigator for numerous clinical trials. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, he was elected in 1986 to membership in Mensa. Currently, he consults nationally in clinical gastroenterology and for Wall Street, internationally on pharmaceutical development, and adjudicates for multiple states, thirteen IRO’s, the Veterans Administration, and Social Security regarding peer review and quality determinants. He loves to teach, has served on numerous speakers’ panels, and has contributed to leadership and health programs at the rank of Captain in the US Air Force's auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol. With over 30 years of continuous specialty practice experience, he is certified and twice recertified by ABIM in Gastroenterology. Dr. Cattano holds active medical licenses in 14 states.
