Schmalbach, MD, MSc, FACS is the David Myers, MD Professor & Chair of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (HNS), Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Director of the Temple Head & Neck Institute for Temple/Fox Chase Cancer Center. She is a fellowship trained Head & Neck-Microvascular surgeon with a Master’s of Science in Research Design & Statistics.
Dr. Schmalbach is recognized for her expertise in HN cutaneous cancers with research contributions in the areas of HN sentinel node biopsy, advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma in immunosuppressed patients & patient safety/quality improvement. She is the Editor-in-Chief for her national society journals: Otolaryngology-HNS and OTO Open. She served as American Academy of Otolaryngology-HNS National Coordinator of Research & Quality, Chair of the American HN Society Cutaneous Cancer Section, and AJCC Task Force Member for Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma.
