• Dr. Catherine Lewis is a psychiatrist based in Farmington, CT, with a subspecialty in forensic psychiatry. She graduated from Yale School of Medicine in 1990 and performed her surgical residency from 1990 to 1993, followed by a psychiatry residency from 1993 to 1996, both at the University of Michigan. While in Michigan, she participated in more than 200 fixed and rotor wing level one trauma flights as a flight surgeon. She has also served as the ranking physician on the Connecticut Disability Retirement Board. She attained the rank of professor emeritus at University of Connecticut. She received grants in PTSD research, addiction research and research on impulsivity and aggression from the National Institute of Health and other agencies. She is nationally and internationally recognized for her research on homicide, impulsivity, risk assessment and aggression. She has received national recognition for teaching of medical students and fellows. She continues to serve inner city clients once weekly in a clinic providing psychopharmacology and psychotherapy in addition to expert witness work. She has done multiple cases involving high states civil and criminal litigation (multiple plaintiffs, death penalty, etc.).
