- I am physician-scientist and cancer biologist who trained under the NCI-funded U54 University of Puerto Rico/MD Anderson Cancer Center Partnership for Excellence in Cancer Research. My doctoral work centered around understanding the role of hypoxia signaling in the biology of both normal and cancerous tissues, and how it influences their response to therapies. My goal is to become a gastroenterologist/hepatologist physician-scientist.
