Summary

  • Board certified Internal Medicine Physician with vast experience in vascular medicine, as a Technical Director of the vascular lab at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson Arizona, I performed and generated preliminary reports of vascular studies, trained vascular technologist, and certified the vascular lab. Dr. Jose Andres Gonzalez who knows my background in vascular medicine was very generous in inviting me to join the new DHR Salvage Limb Program whose main goal is to reduce the number of amputations in the Rio Grande Valley region. In that role, I will be in charge of the outpatient vascular consultation, obtain, read, and report vascular studies done at the DHR Vascular Institute, make clinical diagnoses, and select which patients will require vascular interventions, and which patients will continue with medical therapy, for those requiring vascular interventions we will improve their clinical conditions for optimal results. With my current certification as Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and after preparing hundreds of preliminary vascular reports, I will be reading all the vascular exams and obtain my Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) certification, after a year with the vascular Institute and the guidance of Dr. Gonzalez I will be qualified to obtain my board certification in Vascular Medicine through the American Board of Vascular Medicine, practice training pathway, and then dream of starting our own Vascular Medicine Fellowship at DHR.
