- Carlos A Gomez, MD, is board-certified in Adult Infectious Diseases (ABIM) and Medical Microbiology (ABP-MM). Dr. Gomez joined the Infectious Diseases Division at the University of Utah in the summer of 2018. His primary focus of interest is infections in patients with weakened immune systems relating to solid-organ transplantation, Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, cancer, and drugs that suppress or modulate immune responses. Dr. Gomez also is interested in molecular diagnostics applied to the immunocompromised host. He sees patients in the immunocompromised and general ID inpatient consultation services and the Infectious Diseases outpatient clinic at the University of Utah Health Center.
