Summary
- Dr. Maurer received her B.S. in Biology from Cornell University, and M.D. Ph.D. degrees from the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program at Weill Cornell Medical College/Rockefeller University. She completed her neurology residency at UCLA, and a fellowship in movement disorders at the National Institutes of Health. She currently serves as assistant professor of neurology at Stony Brook University, as well as director of the Stony Brook Center for Tics and Tourette's disorder and associate director of the Stony Brook Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). Dr. Maurer is an expert in the examination and treatment of movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease, Tourette’s syndrome, and functional neurological disorder. Her research interests include the non-motor features of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, as well as the pathophysiology and treatment of functional neurological disorder.
