- After graduating from SUNY at Buffalo's School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Dr. Caren Gellin completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at the University of Rochester in 2008 before staying on as a faculty member. Her initial interest focused around utilizing simulation for medical education. During additional training through the University of Rochester Medical Center's Dean's Teaching Fellowship, she created an interprofessional Simulation Instructor Course. Her academic work has focused on medical education including medical students, residents, and faculty development. Currently, Dr. Gellin is the Pediatric Residency Program Director and a pediatrician at Golisano Children's Hospital Pediatric Practice. Her scholarly work focuses on medical education particularly residency training, community-level advocacy, physician wellness, and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
