A native New Yorker, Dr. Sommer is an avid Yankees and Knicks fan. During this time Dr. Sommer worked as a reporter at Sports Illustrated magazine before attending medical school. Board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, she worked at the VA in Birmingham just prior to moving to Chattanooga with her family. Dr. Sommer enjoys hiking and biking with her husband and three children. She has also enjoyed playing ultimate frisbee for over twenty years and continues to participate in local leagues with her husband.
