He completed his medical education at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, followed by a residency and chief residency in pediatrics at the University of South Florida. He further specialized through completion of a fellowship in Adolescent & Young Adult Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Currently an Assistant Professor at USF Morsani, Dr. Nereim has authored several publications, including studies on gun violence prevention and racial and ethnic differences in pediatric care. He was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in 2014 and was recognized as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly in 2024 and 2025. He currently serves as Co-Chair for the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force of the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as Advocacy Lead on the executive board of the Southeast Chapter of the Society for Adolescent Health & Medicine.
