Summary
- Dr. Bryan Sofen is a board certified Dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. Having trained at two of the top three Dermatology programs in the country, Dr. Sofen is excited to bring complete care to his patients medically, surgically, and cosmetically.
After growing up in in metro Detroit, Dr. Sofen graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with degrees in Biology and Spanish and earned his MD at Wayne State. He completed a surgical internship at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer center before his residency in Dermatology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, serving as the Chief Resident his final year. He subsequently completed a prestigious fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, Cutaneous Oncology, and Cosmetic dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). At UCSF, working together with top cosmetic dermatologists and plastic surgeons, Dr. Sofen honed his surgical skills and his cosmetic acumen in order to treat all aesthetic concerns, gaining expertise with Botox, fillers, and laser procedures.
Dr. Sofen is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Sofen is the author of numerous scientific publications, has lectured at many international meetings, and is the author of over a dozen textbook chapters.
Dr. Sofen also completed a specialized Dermatopharmacology fellowship at New York University (NYU), running their clinical trial unit and help to investigate new treatment options for both medical and aesthetic dermatologic conditions. Dr. Sofen has also worked on research in dermatology at Yale, Northwestern, and UCLA.
Dr. Sofen adheres to what he believes is the Golden rule of medicine: treat everyone as if they were your own family.
