Summary

Clinically, I am a General Surgeon at University Health Truman Medical Centers, composed of two safety net hospitals within Kansas City, Missouri. UH-Truman Medical Center is an American College of Surgeons Accredited Level 1 Trauma Center, and UH-Lakewood is an Eastern Jackson County community-based
safety-net hospital. I provide surgical services in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, breast, thyroid, parathyroid, endoscopy, and trauma, including the full spectrum of general surgery. I work in graduate medical education, both at a programmatic and institutional level. I also extensively mentor medical students and residents interested in careers in surgery and surgical subspecialties. I have special interests in surgical education, well-being, gender, diversity in healthcare and healthcare education, mentorship, and finding improved ways to serve the underserved.
