Summary
- Clinically, I am a General Surgeon at the Eastern Kansas Veterans’ Affairs Health Care System. I provide surgical services in minimally invasive surgery, breast, thyroid, parathyroid, endoscopy, including the full spectrum of general surgery. At EK-VAHCS, I serve as the Chief of Surgery. I am passionate about graduate medical education, coaching and mentorship, both at a programmatic and institutional level. I also extensively mentor surgical faculty and residents, as well as medical students interested in careers in surgery and surgical subspecialties. I have special interests in surgical education, well-being, gender and diversity in healthcare and healthcare education, mentorship, and finding improved ways to serve the underserved and special populations.
